Video: How passion can make you a great photographer
For a longer time I have been planning a series of interviews with people who are passionate about their work. There are two reasons why I want to do these interviews.
- I want to inspire you for taking the actions towards a more fulfilling life and show you living examples of people who did it. How they feel now and what has changed in their lives.
- And, being so many years in the recruitment industry, I also want to share with you very concrete examples of different professions and what is behind them, something we normally don’t see. E.g. if you ever though of becoming a singer, you may have very unrealistic vision of what is actually behind it, how a normal day looks like, what it takes etc. We normally see only the small tip of the iceberg.
Last time I spoke to a life coach, who travels around the world right now and works online, helping other people with their limiting believes, fears and with many other areas, too.
Photography as a dream
Today I speak with portrait photographer Niki Strbian, who loves taking pictures of new-born babies, children, families, and portraits in general.
Discover your dream career
With these 13 free, proven questions, you will have a much better picture of how you really want your life and career to look and which actions you should take to achieve it.
Change does not come over night
I have to say, that since I did not recruit any photographer, yet (because my corporate clients don’t have those kind of recruiting needs normally :)), even myself I had quite a misleading image about what it really takes to be a photographer, what it includes, how her day looks like and what it takes. But you may watch the video here and watch our live discussion. I promise you also some laugh this time, so take your headset, too if you watch it in the office 🙂
And if you prefer to just listen to the audio, here is the audio version, too.
As Niki says at the end of the interview, she was not really conscious about her passions and dream job. It just happened to her, circumstances occurred etc. Many people come to it that way. It was my case earlier, too.
And many people will come into the realization when something major happens to them, e.g. they get sick or have an accident and they need to stay in bed for longer time and have lot of time to think how to live their lives further or what to do as a profession next. They have time to think. And that’s when things become clear for many of us. When we start to think .-)
Many of us don’t have time to think about our passions
Many of us live our daily life like in a turning wheel. We just try to keep up the speed, we run and run and run, kind of execute our daily lives but we don’t find moments to stop and think properly and actually question why we do things we do. So, I encourage all of you, take that time, have some nice relaxing meditating music, maybe even glass of good wine and with my 13 questions you may start thinking about your life in general – your work, career, relationships, health, friendships, and start designing the life you wish to have. That’s a first step – dream and become clear about what you want to have in the first place. The rest will follow after.
Taking the journey on your own can be hard
Most often it is quite hard to do this process on your own. Most often people get much better results when they are guided in a safe environment, surrounded by people with same goal and mindset and that’s what we do in our workshops, so feel free to join us.
So, have fun with the video and if you know people, who really love their job and are contagiously happy and fulfilled overall, please drop me an email to [email protected], I will be glad for your tips and recommendations. I want to interview people from different sectors, different professions, being employed, freelancer, big business owners . The condition is to be truly passionate about their work, have experience from changing from one job to more fulfilling one, and being generally happy and content with their lives overall, not just work side.
There are not that many, I know 🙂 Research says that its only about 30% of us, and I just hope that with my work I can help a few more 🙂
